Arguably everything but food, welfare and health is a public waste of money. Not sure where one draws the line.
Barges that can't go under canal bridges towed by a pony horse would be a good starting point.

It's a piece of static artwork. Scrap this along with all the museum exhibits and save public monies then ?Barges that can't go under canal bridges towed by a pony horse would be a good starting point.![]()

If I can permit myself to get back onto bikes, surely we both recognise that a simple bike with very little cost is no burden to a state?
This bike is awesome! I’m inspired to do something half as good. The answer is simple.
Have at least one bike for leaving locked up, one that you won't mind losing, make it look like shit.
Here's my smooth riding comfy and nippy town bike. It's a 92 Rocky Mountain Hammer, all new bearings, a sweet ride.

I enjoy leaving it locked up, I get a kick out of the snarky sideways glances it gets from bike snobs.
The 'rust' is all paint.
OR one of these. A Sinclair A frame folder. An old work for some reason decided to buy one had one and funnily enough he barely rode it because it was absolutely horrific to ride. No fast get-aways for a thief on one of these and if they do make it around the corner, it will be abondoned soon after that! The Strida!

Hard for a thief to conceptualise how stealing one would improve his lot for the day
I have used a couple, it's a lot of fun if you don't mind looking like an idiot and avoiding hills.![]()
