Talking of cars...

Do you sneak around at night removing the heels off your wife's shoes?

I have had a few bikes that I put the biggest tyres I could on, and enjoyed very much the sensation of tyres chafing.

Never lowered a car, though I have driven a few. I would want something I could jack up hydraulically when needed, for normal use.

Mmmm. Citroen!

You mean like my Notch?

It runs an air ride system.

I could drive it with all the air out, maybe not!!

I can imagine the family coming down for breakfast one day. One slides their chair in, smacks their knees on the table. Second one does the same, and so on.

Guess dad has slammed the kitchen table.

The school bus approaches, and each in turn smacks their head on the 'slammed' front door.

Is slamming inspired by the low rider culture?

Do many of the vee dub crowd use gas to pop them? It is many years since I was around that scene, I don't remember much except slight lowering, to 'improve handling', though it was often done badly and did anything but!

I think they look very cool though. Couldn't drive one though, not with me bad back! :)

You think I can afford kids with a hobby like mine?

There are alsorts of lowering jobs from a 'Static drop' my K70 to air shocks/bags and hydraulics etc...

The work that has gone into my Notch to get it that low but able to drive well would shock you. The car drives better now it has had all the modifications than it did before.

Whilst I have you there, I'd like to quantify my reaction to the ugly Minilite wheels! All these are period alloys and all are far nicer wheels than those nasty things other people decided to inflict on this thread.

They are better bigger!!

Depends on the car though, those examples above look great with the chosen wheel styles but old skool race and rally cars (what i'm into) look better with small wheels with dish (like wide Minilights, Revolutions, Alleycats etc)

A rally prepped Hillman Avenger would look daft with a set of 15" chrome Saltflats on it but looks fantastic with a set of 7x13 Minilights (or Revolutions etc) on it.

I had a 71 Beetle years ago, had 15" EMPI eight spokes on it, those are Minilight copy's are they not ? :)

Now heres the thing, I'm not into rally/race cars and Minilites look rubbish on anything but. you are pushing the issue when you say 'fantastic' as a tool for the job maybe?

By the way,Empi 8 spokes are as horrible as Minilites!!

Should be a fair few classics with all manner of nasty wheels at the Snowman Rally on Saturday. Will try to get some pics.

Wish I was driving, but I haven't even bought the car I want for it yet, never mind restoring it.
