Retro Guru
Hi All,
Following my first ever weekend at the Malverns Classic and much drooling over all the gorgeous bikes on display, I have finally realised that i need another retrobike in my life!

I am wanting approx. 19" frame rigid mtb, something special, 1991 or 1992 vintage (my school years that really resonate with me), ideally i would love that someone has one too many bikes in their collection and would love to swap with my 2022 Cotic Escapade 853 edition gravel bike (large, grx groupset, dt swiss wheels, conti terratrail tyres)

My previous retro builds have been varied (litespeed, Alpinestars, Orange, Scott), so if anyone fancies scratching the gravel bike itch and is open to a deal, please let me know!

Incase it helps...this is my Cotic 853 that im hoping someone wants and has a suitable retro for me!

Luckily I've moved my Raleigh Dune Dancer on, otherwise I would be all over this... an 853 for a 501 all terrain tubing swap, what's not to like?

But more seriously, the cotic looks a very nice bike, why would you want to part it out for something from the early 90's? (unless it's a Hei Hei)

EDIT - what's the Cotic worth? It may be worth selling rather part exchanging and are there any early 90's bikes that particularly resonate with you?

EDIT EDIT - Are you a troll from the future trying to understand what all this Retrobike fuss is all about?

Probably time I got my coat

Great questions....
firstly, I built up the Cotic and now haven't used it for over a year, the visit to the Malverns Classic reignited my want for early 90's bikes again, as much as the Cotic is lovely, it isnt my childhood dream bike!

The Cotic is easily north of £1500, probably around £1800 thanks to the build on it. (I will look to advertise it privately in due course)

I have owned many a retro mtb, An early 90's top end Marin, Kona or GT, a mint Orange Clockwork in orange and white.....my preference is steel as i would still like to use it occasionally and not just look at it! There are so many gorgeous bikes from that era, that i could easily be swayed by anything!
