aaaarrrgggghhh!

Why do I always miss these things! blast and damnations, I was out in the snow elsewhere and didnt check here yesterday.

thanks for the offer though 8)

If it snows next weekend....

PM me your tel no

I think its got a bit too thin to try again this week, but if we get some fresh I can call you and let you know, glad you're interested. The slope was rideable and there was lots of interest from passers by.
Walking back up constantly was exhausting though. 8)

Wolf Ridge

I believe it is a large Wolf Ridge frame from 1998, sprayed black and stickered up as a Winter-X bike with all the correct authorisations for use on French ski chairlifts. With the oddly raised stem, high handlebars and low seat combo. It will now drift, carve and go just about anywhere sat down or standing on the pegs.
I could carve it like a motorcycle rider, so low that my uphill boot was scraping the snow and the skis were right on edge, perfect for hard pack snow. Skibiking rocks!
Looks like there will be a session at Milton Keynes at the end of the month, fancy coming for a ride?

I would certainly be interested, PM me the details and I will look into it. Service, MOT and tyres about to wipe me out at the moment though, combined with people organising unnecessarily expensive stag do's, but should be able to squirell some spare change away for a play on one of those beasties :)

Totally safe, kinda sorta.

What could be the least bit dangerous about a bike with no brakes that runs down a hill covered in stuff slicker than banana skins without wheels
Seriously though, you are correct Mr Pies, don't try this without some instruction from another skibiker on how to turn and stop, preferably in a controlled location and wearing the appropriate protection!
Once you have the knowledge you will be able to ride safely at a slow pace on boiler plate hard snow at angles of over 30 degrees in excellent control. But if you let these things go out of control they accelerate faster than skis or boards. The speed record is 120 mph!
When you fall off, as you will when you are learning, at least you fall onto a relatively soft surface and don't get gravel rash or worse.
