Anyone believe his "Cancer" story? That is as shabby an excuse as I've ever come across.

I think that's just crossed the line Mate!...& No, I'm in no way condoning his actions as I too can add my name to the growing list of stuff we traded that never showed up. I kinda moved on...I doubt he'll be back on here, especially with this thread in full motion!...I cannot see what the forum will do or have any liability to. We all trade on personal terms...so guess, if you're all Peeved enough to warrant any actions of your own, you should follow that up...but comments as above serve no purpose in my eyes...
You reckon?

In suburbanreuben's defense I'd like to say he's just asking a question we've all been dying to ask, suburbanreuben himself has been REALLY REALLY bloody ill and traded and chatted like a diamond geezer.

Well, they do say Cancer touches 1 in 3 of us & I too have been affected (not personally) by the illness and just felt it wasn't the right thing to mention - Totally off Topic...unsubscribing to this thread as it's not achieving anything & the other thread started by Harryburgundy is going in the same direction...

I only bought once from him. High price but look worth it until i fitted a seat then noticed part of the clamp was cracked. Surely not good ol Si would have sold me a 'duff' seat post??

His feed back thread is very good to :?

I have not piped-up on this thread as I never 'lost' anything when dealing with Si - but I did have similar experiences to the one Tony has described.

I stopped dealing with Si in the end as I became disappointed with the condition of items, which invariably proved to not quite match their advertised description.

The last straw was when I bought some M900 Brifters from him, which arrived minus the barrel adjuster rubbers, but with the addition of cracked shifter pods.

Needless to say, the advert indicated the rubbers were included in the sale, but did not have any mention of cracked pods.

He claimed to have known nothing of the cracks, but this didn't fit right with me as they were very apparent and easily visible.

Unfortunately I find the 'Feedback' section slightly pointless and never use it for this very reason - from reading Sith's feedback one would think him an excellent trader, but this only serves to catch the unwary when a member decides to do the dirty.

I have had hundreds of dealings on RB over the years, covering thousands of pounds, as both seller and buyer, but have only minimal feedback as I simply don't use the system.

I will make this known to a seller / buyer should they request feedback post-sales. I did initially leave feedback for members, but became slightly disillusioned by it in the end.

Apologies if this is slightly off-topic from John's request of itemising 'missing' items, but thought it worth mentioning following TinTin's post regarding his, er, post...

Cheers,
BB.

Well if it is the big C that is preventing Simon from making it to the phone/ laptop/ Post Office, it certainly hasn't stopped the rumpy pumpy going on at Sith Towers...... He became a father again back in November. And who said Chemo and Radiotherapy harmed sperm count?

Looks like your money has been spent on nappies rather than stamps guys.

Well if that's true then it's pretty conclusive that he's conned everybody. Having a kid might mean a delay for a few days as the child is being born but there's always time to package up a few bits and pop to the PO (unless they've been in hospital for 3 months I suppose) afterwards. If you've got time to buy nappies then you can post other peoples property off or even quicker, give a refund.

Why on earth has he not been banned yet?

I made enquiries at the branch of WHSmith where his wife/partner works at the weekend. She's on maternity leave. I asked how mother and baby were doing and the girl there said everything fine and dandy. Everything is well on that front.

I'm amused that no one has managed to get in touch with him yet. A simple google search using keywords on this very thread will yield his home phone number.... You know his name is 'Simon Smith' and Salty has told us he lives in 'Pegswood'. Et viola! Looks like he is selling aquatic gear!

Happy hunting.

Si

So, Dr S..

You are saying if you go to this page:

http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/p ... 237535.php

You can see his Home Phone, and a link to photos on his photobucket Sithlord page etc

All I'm saying is Google is rather good sometimes. In no way am I suggesting that Simon Smiths home phone number is in the above link. It could well be, but its pure coincidence should it happen to be at the bottom of that page and starts with 01670.
