I only bought once from him. High price but look worth it until i fitted a seat then noticed part of the clamp was cracked. Surely not good ol Si would have sold me a 'duff' seat post??
His feed back thread is very good to :?
I have not piped-up on this thread as I never 'lost' anything when dealing with Si - but I did have similar experiences to the one Tony has described.
I stopped dealing with Si in the end as I became disappointed with the condition of items, which invariably proved to not quite match their advertised description.
The last straw was when I bought some M900 Brifters from him, which arrived minus the barrel adjuster rubbers, but with the addition of cracked shifter pods.
Needless to say, the advert indicated the rubbers were included in the sale, but did not have any mention of cracked pods.
He claimed to have known nothing of the cracks, but this didn't fit right with me as they were very apparent and easily visible.
Unfortunately I find the 'Feedback' section slightly pointless and never use it for this very reason - from reading Sith's feedback one would think him an excellent trader, but this only serves to catch the unwary when a member decides to do the dirty.
I have had hundreds of dealings on RB over the years, covering thousands of pounds, as both seller and buyer, but have only minimal feedback as I simply don't use the system.
I will make this known to a seller / buyer should they request feedback post-sales. I did initially leave feedback for members, but became slightly disillusioned by it in the end.
Apologies if this is slightly off-topic from John's request of itemising 'missing' items, but thought it worth mentioning following TinTin's post regarding his, er, post...
Cheers,
BB.
