Interesting discussion. I've been thinking of going tubeless on a couple of bikes. The main reason is that, once you have tubeless-ready rims, getting tyres on and off is such a PITA that fixing a puncture at the side of the road/trail is no longer the straightforward task that it used to be. It took me an hour or so to take off a tyre a couple of weeks ago, and that was at home. If I'm going to have to fight with a tyre, I might as well reduce the number of times I have to fight with it by going tubeless.
