Under the BB serial numbers on GT aluminum frames of that era are from Taiwan and judging by the decal on that frame it's probably a Tempest mid/low end model 7005 frame.
 
All the lower end Taiwan built bikes in that era the Avalanche, Pantera, Backwoods, Tempest and Aggressor were all stamped 7005 on the inside of the rear dropouts in addition to having the curved top tube end caps
 
Just to confuse things though, the Pantera was the only other aluminum GT to have the flat end-cap. Only for one year - 1992 IIRC.

Whatever, a polished alu GT will always be a cool bike.
