Road bike hydraulic levers?!

Shimano have a Di2 system as well . was seen on a cyclo cross bike this winter .

but as said above , BB7 are best alternative at the moment . i have them on my Kinesis cross bike and they are brilliant .

Mine aren't even BB7 and they are more than good enough! But I think the additional cost/benefit of the BB7 is the twin pad alignment and better brake pad seating.
On the BB5 the pads hover on the disc and can cause a bit of noise sometimes.

If an opportunity to upgrade comes along at the right price I'll probably do so for the ease of setting the pads.
