Hydraulic drop bar brake lever options

Having completed the muddy fox rock'n roll project, I'm turning my attention to converting my Genesis iO-iD into a drop bar commuter. It's basically stock with the standard shimano hydraulic discs.

What are my options for hydraulic drop bar levers that will work with the existing calipers? I assume Shimano ST-RS405/505 are pretty much the only option?

I will use an 8 speed bar end shifter for the Alfine hub, so no need to worry about the shifting aspect of the levers.

depends who you ask, but by a fair few accounts they are pretty darned good yes.
as with all of these things though, you will get your detractors.

I don’t have any drop bar levers In stock so I’d have to buy some of those too, but I could then run the alfine8 drop bar shifter which might be quite nice…. Hmmm

Have you considered TRP Hylix? They're a shifter-less drop bar hydraulic system.
Granted it's probably easier to just purchase the full brake set, some folks hace had some success with TRP x Shimano 'frankenbrakes' if you were to find just the levers.
