I've just mailed the forum's e-stay specialist ... or at least the guy that has more e-stay bikes than the rest of us combined.
He might be familiar with these frames.
It's 9AM in LA, so I'm not sure when he'll drop in here.
Good evening incorrigibleThanks guys. I appreciate the accolades.
E-stay 'specialist' sounds a lot better than what Hotwheels. calls me (the e-stay pervert)
I simply think of myself as the cat-lady of e-stays, I see these unwanted 'strays', and so I feel obligated to take them in and give them a home.
To the OP: That's a beautiful bike, and because it's my size I'm definitely interested in it.
Like many here, I'd be more interested if I could buy just fork and frame from you, and there are 2 reasons for that.
1 - I'm not a big fan of those other parts, and if I were to buy that bike from you, I would definitely pull all of the parts off of the frame and then build the frame up with the parts that I would want. Then, of course, I would have to take the time to list and sell the parts that I didn't want on eBay.
2 - In my personal experience, the cost to ship an entire bike is about 3X the cost to ship a frame-only (or frame-and-fork), and although a particular frame can be hard to find, all the other parts besides the frame are easily sourced on this side of the pond. It's usually the wheelset that puts the package size (volume) over the limits set by most couriers for a 'regular' package, thus making it a 'large' package requireing 3X the funds to ship.
That said, I'm in USA. Where are you located?
Do you have a price in mind?
