Retro 1996 Orange Prestige, 16 inch, good condition

Retro Orange Prestige, 16 inch frame, good condition for year (1996), brakes and shifters not original, wife’s bike so had an easy life as a mtb before being used as her commuting bike, would make easy restore into retro classic. Would be reluctant to post so will travel to meet up or deliver within reasonable distance from Bristol. £ 150 ono. please respond by pm.

Nice bike, nice price. They stopped making them in 1994 and I think yours is probably a 93, but could be a 92. The serial number under the bottom bracket shell might well tell us. And I think the size is what Orange call 17.

Yup agree. Just out of interest....what cranks are those.....colour/profile look like Exage.....but never seen any with the cut (cast) outs? Cheers and glws :D

just dug up the original receipt and you are right, it was bought on 11/11/1993 sorry for the error.
At the time orange sized their bikes weirdly, their 17.5 inch frames were the same size as other manufacturers 15.5/16 inch bikes, their 19 inch frames were the same as other 17.5 inch frames, This bike was sold as 17.5 inch but by modern standards it measures up more like a 15.5/16 inch.

I think they are exage, a friend of mine in the aerospace industry milled them out and polished them up for me back in the day. Nice job and Quite unique.

Never thought I would see an Exage crank that made me go.....mmmm coooool 8)
