We want to fit some new shimano derailleur 6 speed gears and changers off another bike onto a old Raleigh Boulder bike. (The Raleigh 5 speed, especially the grip shift changers are not good.)
The Raleigh Boulder gear hanger has a stud onto which you fit the derailleur and secure it with an e-clip.
The new gear hanger had a threaded hole into which you mount the derailleur with an Allen key bolt.
Do we need a new hanger?
Existing derailuer setup
New derailuer that we think needs a gear hanger...appreciate the existing gear may well be able to index 6 speed shimano ok
