Raleigh 8803 poor man's SBDU

Back in the UK and still pondering the frame finish. On inspection i noticed a couple of pin holes on the inside of one of the fork legs. Are they drain holes?

Raleigh put vent holes in the fork blades and seat stays but never filled them (as far as I'm aware) unlike other manufacturers/frame builders.
There should be one high up on each fork blade and one down by each dropout. They're not pin holes though, much bigger than that. These are on a pair of Raleigh 653 forks.

Yes that's the fellows. I've just checked and yes a couple of mm or thereabouts in diameter

That's all right then, nothing to worry about.
I used to fill them with grease to stop them whistling on descents!
