This should be the thread I/we look at next year and realise how ambitious/foolish we all were back then...

What retro-related plans are you hatching for next year???

Mine are:

Finisher/Completer Projects
Ibis Alibi - final tweaks and first marathon race
Spesh FSR - waiting for the ACs and a coil shock then we are to the hill
Nishiki Alien - Mavic headset, shorter bars, fix slipping post and we are done
Orange Formula - adjust to my urban hybrid spec: Manitou 700c forks, Hot Rod bars radically trimmed, garish Onza bar ends and some cyclocross brakes

New Builds
Proflex 353 - respray and Manitou 1 front end
GT RTS 1 - build up with Mag 20s
Nishiki Cascade - cyclocross spec - Phelanesque drops
Yet Ultimate - undecided. Just snuck that one in - thanks Brooks!

Activities
2 50k marathons
A night race - never done one! Can we have a retro team?
Fort William for the Worlds - can we have a display stand?
Coast to coast
Isle of Man for the Centenary TT
London to Brighton on the Orange
Meet more members on more Retrobike official rideouts!

Can't wait to see the Ultimate. I really want one of those at some point ...

Hopefully 2007 will be the time my "old" Yeti becomes a full bike again (I think I've got all the bits now), which will be my excuse to buy a new bike.

Activity-wise:

- Monsterman XC run / MTB / XC run series
- Rope more work colleagues into a 2 or 3 day adventure race (are you reading this, Pace )
- Some night-riding over the Summer would be pretty cool, too.

But one 13 month old child and another on the way will probably ruin my chances (add the insanely jealous wife and it's a recipe for no riding).

On the bike building front I'd like to do a retro/new build on the cats wiskas (and maybe a race with it)

Projects

Build new Shed/Garage - currently have two bikes in the loft as wife is fed up with them lurking in the house amonst the washing. Need a proper bike only storage and workshop area.

Build up the Rockhopper.
Finish off the Explosif (almost done)
See what state the 'Chill' arrives in and build up accordingly.

New Acquisitions

A new Bike - Never ridden anything newer than an 89 and have never even used Disc brakes, so have decided to treat myself to a new bike so i can see what Scant is always harping on about.

Yo Eddy - I know it's sad but i really want one.. has to be M/L or L though as I need to stop buying bikes that are too small for me and thinking they're ok.


Keep up the duathlons (knee depending)
Do some more adventure races.
Get wife more into cycling.

Oh - and stop buying things I don't need off the bay !!

Finally finish the RC300 - not retro but very very nice. 07 XTR, lots of carbon, Pace RC39 forks

Track down a Proflex 856 in Red with Girvin forks - anyone got one?
