oy had wunnuh deesa wunza too! :p

IIRC was able to work out that it was the Competition model and in the same livery as your iron

purchased at a drive-in theatre marche des pousses located in San Jose, California back in the mid-LXXX's

it was fitted with Verot Competition cottered steel chainset 55 and Verot 34 bottom bracket, Huret Allvit gear ensemble, Titan stem/bar set, Weinmann centrepull arrestors, Atom 440 pedals, plain saddle pillar

research yielded a birth estimate of MCMLXVII

You can see in the brochure that I posted that the "Competition" was with Campagnolo drivetrain and the "Super Sport" with Allvit.
I would assume the bike was not sold as new in the states

The frame was manufactured by Jonas Øglænd in Sandnes Norway. Allegedly 200 frames were made with 531 tubing.

Parts I have for the Super Sport

I have a pair of mod. 68 levers, but for another restoration project.

The serial number for the Monark is 2303505

The p-spring cover cup on the Gran Sport measured 5mm's so it's from late 1953-56

Given that, the fives in the serial and the "55" on the handlebars I would say the bike is from 1955
