I wonder if its like the time Volkswagen said they were going to make a Buggati.

think the page has been pulled now anyway as i can't access it  Agree with Si though if you wish to use the name of what was/is a quality product then you should be building a quality product and to me On-One have always seemed to be the cheap option

I can't believe this!!

How could a cheap taiwan knock off frame by on-one dare to use the Fat name??? The nerve of it gets to me.
Should IF have brought back the Fat name.. then there could be some justification for it. Not sure I would agree, but hey, could see the logic.

As for on-one...feel ashamed I ever bought one. The original tinbred was ok to ride, but as have said many times, was more than a little disappointed with quality from when it arrived...
- Rear triangle alignment out, could not align wheel centrally against chain and seatstays.
- Weld blobs all over threads in BB
- Weld blobs on stays
- When paint stripped off (oh yeah, not told it was painted for this batch!) you could see where someone had taken an angle grinder to the weld splatter all over the stays

as Si says - make no mistake, these frames are cheap!!

Bringing this frame out to me takes away the cred they had with cheap frames for the masses, a thing I could understand, to just being Fat marketing Chancers

The page has been pulled. Wonder why?

I have no view on On One. They build frames for a job to a price point.

To be fair to Volkswagen they did a pretty good job of bringing back the brand. The engineering that went into that car is astounding. 1001bhp in a road car that is tractable enough to drive to the shops is a feat indeed, to make it reliable is on a whole new level. One French owner has done over 100,000km trouble free in his car with just routine servicing. Word has it, despite it's huge pricetag, Volkswagen lost $2,500,000 on every single Veyron they sold. The Halo effect on the rest of the VAG group products is priceless however.
So back to our chums in Doncaster. If they truely built a worthy product, built with top quality custom tubing, hand crafted by passionate people and beautifully finished then I would take back what I said. But they don't, and I won't.

Could it be that a gobby, opinionated Fat Chance owner left an unsavouy comment on that page last night in a fit of piqué?

Job done.
