'Official' Retrobike Pace Serial Number Thread

Some idle calculations while I was updating the Serial Number list:

% of frames that appear to have survived (roughly, on out record etc...)

RC100 51/372 13.7%
RC200 F1 21/149 14.0%
RC200 F2 63/200 31.0%
RC200 F3 32/201 15.5%
RC200 F4 13/109 11.9%
RC200 F5 23/262 8.7%
RC200 F6 24/176 13.6%
RC200 F7 12/156 7.7%
RC200 F8 24/283 8.5%
RC250 9/43 20.9%
RC300 29/407 7.1%
RC500 4/18 22.2%

Total: 305/2376 12.8%

All the best,

Good info danson seems the f2 is a better surviver if I read it right is that All that was made 2376 in total
Yes, on production numbers, Adrian suggested just over 3000 units. The serial numbering looks more like 2400 or so.

The F2 does have the best survival ratio...but I don't think it's indicative of much, since it's not a comprehensive list of production numbers or survivors, just what has been gleaned over the years from articles, RB, Facebook and eBay sales etc.

Some features do have specific failure modes:
-RC100s known to crack at CS/BB joint and the welded seat clamp, but otherwise tough, overbuilt and not anodised.
-Round seat tubes go at the BB end (F3-F8 ), bad design choice of thin walled PG tube, rather than butted.
-1-1/8" head tubes tend to crack (F6-RC300), under toleranced bore and possibly poor quality material stock.
-Cracking at CS/BB joint after dropping the chainstay bridge (F4-RC300).
