New Years Pub aftermath thread -

.

Turned Jools off at 12.10 this year.
It must have been poor because last year i couldn't bring myself to turn it off until 1.30am.

Went for a few drinks with the family to my sisters, left fairly early as my girls only 6. Put her to bed then watched the excellent London fireworks on beeb 1 :D

No NYE pub for me, too much enforced happiness...

NYE was just the two of us on a wet and windy beach with a bottle of shampoo, so no excitement there..

xmas lunch however, was crazy with the crazy next door. 3 police cars, one paramedic, one ambulance.

Police eventually sent her to hospital after bashing down the door as at that point it was hospital or cell. Later on that evening, they came back looking for her, went back in and arrested her.

It kept the folks entertained for most of the afternoon.

Well each to their own...

I just fail to get excited about the presumed machismo about inbibing huge quantities of alcohol, to make an absolute dick of yourself, behaving as if you were at least a decade younger, all the while idiotically (or perhaps systematically and pathologically) forgetting the whole feeling completely wretched the next day.

20 years ago, perhaps, when I was too stupid to know better, and thought I'd live forever, regardless, maybe. These days, I'm generally less retarded.

I DJ'd at my mates bar and had a belter of a night.
The place was rammed, I didn't pay for a drink all night and got to play the Glenn Miller version of Auld Lang Syne at Midnight to raise a drink to my wonderful Gran who passed away on April 29th, and was a big Glenn Miller fan.
Nobody noticed apart from me, so it was a nice way to say goodbye to a shitty 2011

I went out, with the missus and kids to a friends house party up on the Malverns. It was great. Managed to not drink myself stupid (so did everyone else), or get any more macho than usual, and even felt ok enough to go for a new years day walk the next day.

Didn't get home til 01:30 and had a really nice time. Don't be such a bunch of misery-guts!

On a slightly different note, I just noticed Apache's sig
"Nothing is ever boobs or ice cream..."

Whilst in Italy, I did once find a Gelateria Titty! So we had to try some of the shops own special flavour, there was much schoolboy sniggering as we asked for "two scoops of Titty please" :D

NYE - nice food, nice wine, nice company and enjoyed Jools - each to their own.

Wow, so you found something that is boobs AND ice cream!

Have to credit Homer (Simpson, not the greek guy) for the sig.
