Well seeing as I cant get out and ride anything cos of the snow, and the postmen seem to have gone on indefinite go slow, due to the ...snow, here are some pictures of my latest project.
The idea was to just build it up with whatever was in the box, but due to this being the same frame as my first ever MTB - a same year courier comp, Ive decided to go for what I had upgraded my first bike to Back in the day. Deore mostly with some LX stuff.
The paint is far from pristine, but I love it all the more for that - just waiting for the rest of the bits and peices to arrive and get her up and running.
So far:
Drivetrain: XTR rear mech, Deore shifters,
Brakes: Deore 2 finger brake levers, needing a bit of a polish
Wheels: Singletrack Pro rims on STX hubs (not exactly the right period, but the only 7 speed I had)
Tyres: Specialised Ground Control and Tioga Psycho 2s (the rear one came up a treat in the washing mahcine
)
Handlebars - Rocky Mountain
H/set: Deore LX
Still to come
LX cantis
Deore FM
Deore LX chainset
Deore LX Pedals
Original Seat and Grips
