Why are 517 so special ?
they are available quite easily on the continent . just picked a lemon/gold NOS pair for less than £20

For me it's just that I like the CD grey anodising more than black. I don't mind having 717's but they only make black ceramics not CD any more - that died out with 517 ceramics.

I just always thought they were the best rim colour.

wasn't the grey (hard) anodising prone to cracking though? or was that just a rumour?
