What does the AMP fork weigh ?

If you're small things are much easier, first the frames are 1/2lb ish lighter (if say steel), steerer tubes are shorter (quite a saving there)
etc..
If you're up in the 19/20" range things get harder as the frames need to be designed to take the extra strain to get a similar riding.

Modern unusable in most conditions lightweight tyres with wafer thing inner tubes will drop the weight considerably, it'll look good on the scales Switch them out when you ride it though.

i have a steel rigid retro that's been 22.2lb with a few reasonable savings still to be made

with a frame maybe 1.5lb lighter, and an AMP fork not much heavier than a P2, i reckon 20lb could be done at a stretch

you'd need revolution spokes though, and titanium loveliness everywhere.

Is that with all 24 gears? (This will)

yep, 24 gears. 22.2 was with XT hubs. XTRs are a lot lighter....

Aye, I'm 5'8", and have always ridden a 16/17" frame.

I've not got endless amounts of cash, so the 20lb may be a stretch too far... But I have a nice light set of hope hubbed wheels, light post & saddle, cranks etc. so we'll see.

I also have a drill for the mechs :twisted:

Interestingly, the Suntour XC pro thumbies I have appear to be (almost) the lightest shifters you can get?

excellent weight weenie choice. i think only x-ray gripshift are lighter.

XC Pro's ~150g and SRT800 ~120g (and in my opinion much nicer to ride with, but each to their own of course)

What I would do for a light fork on a 93-95 build is buy a 98/99 SID and fit Judy SL lowers on it.

I used to steer clear of Gripshift after horrible experience with SRT400s back in the 1990s, but I have X-Rays on my Xizang and in combination with an M95X derailleur and cassette they work really well.

On-topic - JUDY SL was lightest Rock Shox ever I believe - claimed weight 2.65lbs.
