Kooka Cranks Period Correct Dust Caps

Hi there; long time retro fan however rather infrequent poster here on Retrobike!

Does anyone know the origins of the period correct dust caps used on the dip fade Kooka cranks? Here is a pic of the one off mine.

Cheers for any expert information as I’ve drawn a blank when searching Google images.
