Always wanted to ride a softtail, is it a noticeable difference to rigid or rear suspension?

It's like having a wider tyre at low pressure - good for increased comfort on stony tracks.
Tina loves it for touring - just debating brazing disc tabs on it, but the colour matched fork would be a sad loss

It's not much cop for offroad performance - it's too slow to react and too springy to rebound.
