Right boys I'll clarify my 10 pence! Crud mi old china I have no issues with how anyone does there business on retrobike. If it comes to you for a £1 well done no worries. My problem is (and bare in mind that the kid selling this is Reading all your comments!) as a community of like minded peeps we should be aiding people who are interested In yours and mines hobbies. That's what this site is about? Yeah fine if he looses out on £50 or £500 tuff sh*t! But to jump all over him! Come on?! Dave_H I met you not so long ago and your a nice bloke! I understand your stance, but put the boot on the other foot. Would you return to a forum after your 1st post generated this? We all mention karma! Perhaps we should understand it's meaning?

Agree with awkward kid about the forum members helping newbies out, we all try to do that. But at no point did underspray ask for any guidance with the value, which he could've done quite easily, getting a reply probably very quickly. No, underspray was in too much of a rush to set a price & get a sale. From posting the sale up, to setting a price took underspray just 9 minutes, how the h3ll does anybody expect to get decent balanced advice in that short amount of time?

A little patience & research on the sellers part would've avoided a whole lot of problems.

I have to say its a bit strong to exploit the guys semi-ignorance on the pricing front,
and i applaud all the guys who say they will pass on the bike karma and supply him with free parts, after all, arent we a community on here?come on,lets not do it to each other.

how is selling his once pride and joy, and i assume, only retrobike taking an interest in this site or our hobby. I pay my taxes, but dont take an interest in them.

It is quite comicaly obvious, hes here to sell, a free sell at that. I just cant empahise with your reasoning, why would he return to the forum after hes just sold his solid gold link to his retro riding past.

:?

Actually im starting to see the light, next sunday, im going to set camp at the tip, if i see anyone dumping anything of value, il have a quiet word in their ear, far be it from me to take the piss.........

Why should this happen? It's been interesting banter - chitter chatter between a bunch of virtual mates. We don't all have to agree and we can express our differences. If were all alike then underspray would have had no offers (assuming we were all alike Russell of course  )

Anyway, I've got one more thought. It doesn't need any answers, I think everyone's positions are pretty clear and not a long way apart in reality - I genuinely don't believe crud or anyone set out to rip off underspray. But my thought....

Lets assume that Sidewinder's response to the first post had been "I'll give you £400 for it"
Let's then assume the anonymous charitable member mailed underspray and said "It's really only worth £170-£200"
What do you think underspray would have done?

Mmmmm.

Three pages of discussions but no further offers that I can see. Perhaps I am the only one who thinks that £100 is a good price for a quick sale for someone who is moving house, and who is also a new member with no history :? . There doesn't appear to be same interest now that the price has gone up to £150, although perhaps this thread is frightening people away  . It would be ironic if underspray now can't sell it at the higher price. The way I see it, if things had been left as they were without interference then underspray would have been happy and crud would have been happy. I would more inclined to agree with most of the comments here if there was a ridiculous imbalance in the asking price. However whilst it is a lovely machine, I have seen a few clockworks go on eBay for less than £150 with a better spec. I hope that the bike is snapped up for £150 otherwise this discussion has all been a bit academic.

[/10p] :D
Dave.
