Agreed Neill If I'd offerd my money in good faith I'd expect to get the goods  especially as there's a "whats it worth" thread as well.

I've been advised via PM that the value is in the £170-200 range.
New price £150 ono plus postage.

Sorry for the confusion.

Advertising this for £100, someone saying they'll have it then you upping the price afterwards is just going to piss people off chap

To be fair to underspray...this is where the 'must have a price' thing goes wrong. £100 was and is obviously too cheap. Maybe he/she should have put it up in the 'how much is my xyz worth' thread first...but that would probably have been a waste of time.

I agree with you to a point Harry but Crud offered £100 sight unseen ,It might as has happened in the past, been the biggest heap of crap on the planet ,you cant then increase the price by 50% and expect the person offering to but to be very happy.as for the price requirement falling down here there is a mechanism in place for people to value their item first.if not on the thread certainly by pm .

I disagree with the first sentence. A value is set by
a) a minimum that the seller feels it is worth
b) a maximum that a buyer is prepared to pay

underspray suggested the price which he was obviously comfortable with so it ticked box a). Crud offered to pay which ticked box b).

It wouldn't have taken underspray more than ten minutes to have searched here and ebay to get a feel for what it might be worth, which I'm guessing he didn't.

So based on the fact that he was too lazy to investigate what it might be worth so therefore offered what he felt it was worth, £100 was not too cheap.

underspray should do the decent thing and sell at the price he's already offered it at, as a couple of hours ago he was happy with that. However, given he's a bit of a 'one hit wonder' on this site, I'm not expecting that should happen.

If we're allowing buyers to chase the highest price then this is an auction site, not a classifieds ad for like minded people.

But since this person has come here, posted for sale as first post and all other posts are in this thread, I assume you'll not be back after the sale. Then I think he'll prefer the extra money and not too worried about pissing some people off. Someone will still buy it for £150 I would have thought.

Not nice, but that's what happens when people come to post a for sale without reading the forum first, or getting to know it :(
