Have put this in the 'how much is it worth' section but wondered if I might get more help by posting it up here...can any one give me any info on these, not that bothered about value but it looks like it ought to be a bit rare!!

Says 68 on it and can't find any numbers that might point to tpi or thread type, ie English or Italian. Is the 68 the shell size or a date??

The 68 with be the shell width, British. Looks like early (50's) Gran Sport. Probably quite rare being early and cottered. Probably even more rare to find a chainset to fit. Just also checked on velobase and there is a similar early Record type but that is square taper and has the sizes stamped on, so definately gran sport.

Thank you! That's really helpful guys, still not sure what to do with it though, can't see the point of holding on to it for a veteran racer build as, as you say, chances of finding a decent chainset are pretty slim!

Have a look on eBay. Someone is currently attempting to sell a NOS example of yours for $700. Although not sold, it has 3 watchers, meaning there is some interest. Bung it on, you may be sitting on a little gold mine.

Good grief!!

That's the polite version of what I actually said....

Found an old Campag seat pin in a shed once and put it on ebay, it eventually went for £127 after a fight for it between an American and Japanese buyer

Your's as two clips, and if they are Campag logoed that will invariably mean an obscene amount of money for them
regardless if they actually serve any purpose in the final set-up.

Just checked the clips with my heart in my mouth...nothing, completely plain!!

Just done some decent close ups for ebay, so will sling it on there for 10 days and sit back and watch.... 8)
