Although this is a cargo bike, I felt it better belonged in the sweaty thread because it is so eloquently sums up my town. Sorry for the quality of the picture, I was driving when I saw it 20250812_162804.webp
I don't know if you can see the details, but there is a crutch lashed to the chainstay with what looks like brake or shifter cable outer acting as a hitch. Strapped to that, is a wheelchair full of cardboard, scraps of plywood, some metal bits, and a sleeping bag. There was no steering control over the chair, front wheels are casters, the thing was steering all over the road and into traffic. Dude rode with ruthless abandon, "full send" in traffic, swerving in and out of the bike lane, cutting across the road without a care in the world

Stelbel lo pro madness. So many of these crazy bikes had the saddle so far back behind the BB. History would be quite different if they had all started getting right over the BB as Obree and Moser(in the end) experimented with. Now that is the norm with TT and triathlon bikes.

It would be interesting to know the thinking there, surely it cant be as simple as weight over the driven wheel for power transfer like cars?
