As above guys, anyone have any experience of this 'conversion', im sure I read Louise calipers runs of the same volume as the HS-33.

I've picked up a nos HS77 set (so groovy, almost convinced me to buy a road bike just to fit them to!) ....and my plans involve a disc braked, drop bar shod, road geometry On-One (Pompetamine).

they definitely dont work with Hope callipers. They didnt supply enough leverage. It felt like glass on glass braking.

well I have a pair of '03 Magura Louise calipers so I guess there is only one way to find out...

The only problem I can see is if the brake fluid heats up and expands. I remember people trying to run Magura rim brake levers with Magura discs about 10 years ago. As the fluid heated up, there is no room for it to expand (unlike disc brake levers), so the brake pads move out and you get constant brake drag (or even lock up).

Interesting point.
I hope its not the case! Going to experiment in the next week or two and will report back if anyone interested?

I would be very interested to see how it works out, find out once and for all if it is a myth or it works.

I can't comment on the disc bit but I've run HS77s with standard Magura MTB rim brake slaves for 6 years now on the tourer. They are fantastic.
