How good were/are Judy XLs?

Unfortunately the damping cartridge shat itself on every jump and drop off, but they weren't really designed for that.

They were aimed squarely at the then-new "freeride" market


So that's exactly what they were for...

Perhaps I'm remembering incorreectly, I'm talking about these long travel Judy XC's, my mistake:

Nowhere near as good as a Z1 Bomber, but far better than a Hi5. Less stiff than an X-Vert dual crown but better damped and more reliable (XL not XLC).

I have been using the ones I picked up a few years back on and off. Decent XC forks. Can't complain. Once you have the right springs in.
