How good were/are Judy XLs?

Nowhere near as good as a Z1 Bomber, but far better than a Hi5. Less stiff than an X-Vert dual crown but better damped and more reliable (XL not XLC).
 
I have been using the ones I picked up a few years back on and off. Decent XC forks. Can't complain. Once you have the right springs in.
