Hi all does anyone have the plans for a hope non disc conversion (torque tube , spacers etc) .
I have bought one off one of the lads on here , but it seems its the kit that uses the old hydro caliper , less that .

What i need is plans , or better still the full kit that doesnt utilise the skewer/hub mounted caliper . Or does anyone have a caliper even ?

Cheers ,

Pete .

Can i have your calliper ?

Can I have your calliper ?

I have pics .

My torque tube is the same as the one attached to your caliper , the rest is the assorted bits that came with it . The main mystery being the dummy drop out , on the drawing i have it looks like it mounts oin the inside .

I bought the shortened axle off ebay thinking i might need it , but i cant for the life of me suss this out . HELP !!!!

BTW i'm running Hope XC disc hubs .

supercycles in nottingham do an adapter, bit of a cross between the hope version and the a2z version that doesn't need a fancy rear axle just a normal rear disc hub
seem to recall them being around £25
he does all the onza and ddg stuff, mainly does dirt jump and trials type stuff but has quite a lot of new old stock as well
think his ebay id is rocknrollbikes(or very similar)
just google supercycles

Hi mate , seen those before . Seen em go on evilbay for £65 !!!
No good for me though , ive got cowelled drop outs . So its gotta mount on the inside of the drop out .

pete,

Looks like you have the version that takes any IS mount caliper. I'll try and get you some pics in the morning - I've one mounted here with an Avid caliper, and it works fine.

here you go:

hope.jpg

fit the short axle to your hub (as long as it will fit - old hope sport or xc hubs seem fine). The dummy drop-out fits inside your proper dropout, with the big nut holding it in place, and with the slot lined up with the dropout on the other side, so the wheel can slip in ok.

your QR then threads all the way though and into the special nut supplied.

any IS disc brake then fits as normal.

This one is on the wife's XS cannondale, and I had to file the brake mount slightly to clear the back edge of the dropout. Also, make sure you use very low-profile rotor bolts, or you'll struggle to get the wheel in and out. Other than having to remove the QR completely every time, it's a very good system. Oh, and don't lose the special QR nut, or you'll be b*ggered.
