Heresy: I am not a Flite man

Half a dozen WTB Silverados, Spesh Toupe and Romin BG (143mm) and a selection of Brooks and Middlemore here. Love my Middlemore and the Brooks B66 is divine if you can stomach the weight!

Those Spa look promising though, can't go wrong with a chunk of leather I reckon - so long as the width is about right it will just mould to you and become wonderfully comfy. Sometimes I find they work better nose up a little, whereas the padded saddles I like absolutely dead flat (allowing for fork sag of course!). Mess with the angle of what you have a bit though - tiny adjustments can make a massive difference, as can getting your position fore/aft correct so that you're pushing down at the right angle. Short version: plumb line from your kneecap should pass through the ball of your foot and the pedal axle with the crank horizontal.

xerxes I'd love to try a narrow Imperial if your's is nearing the bin...?

Considered a Brooks?

Most seem to say they find them very comfortable when broken in for them.

I've found the original Specialized Prolong to be comfy, also an Avocet O2.

Recently bought a Brooks Swift Ti which has been surprisingly ok straight out of the box. It's hard, but there seems to be a fair bit if spring through the frame/rails. Not entirely sure it's up to off road use though, + Brooks saddles don't much like getting wet...?

Charge Spoon or WTB Rocket-V I found comfortable, I have a Rocket-V Comp I'd happily trade for your flite if you wish.

Carl.

Any Specialized BG saddle and there are a lot to choose from work for me. Never tried a Flite but just by looking at them makes me think pain. Charge Spoons seem very popular with riders I know.

I must admit i am not a fan of Flites either.. I do have one fitted to a bike i seldom ride but i think they look long aswell as uncomfortable.

I have a Vetta SL on my '91 Team and i think it looks a treat and is comfortable.

The Charge Spoon is the most uncomfortable saddle I've ever used. Bought one, put it on bike, cycled home, had to stop within 1 mile and take it off. Sold it on Ebay that evening.

Flites, ridden them since 1990; and I've got one on every bike I own.

Which just goes to prove that there is no right answer. it all depends on the shape of your arse.
