I'm 45 and just dyed my hair LOL. Crazy thing is when i was young i was always dying it different colours and crazy hair cuts.

So why was i so reluctant to do it now ?women do it to hide the grey.

I went a shade too dark, but is non perm (tech term there) so if there is a next time will go bit lighter...................hey if Mr. Depp and Mr. Pitt can , why can't I :wink:

I used to randomly bleach the heck out of my hair..

Had a couple of excursions into black, blue and purple (not all at the same time) territory but bleaching was my favourite..

Been thinking of having another bash.. need to grow the crop out first though 8)

Do you really want to admit to that?

It's your choice, but personally I'd rather embrace my salt & ginger, thank you.

Good for you, its not the dark ages any more...having a bit of pride in yourself is nothing to be ashamed of! some people age more graciously than others and can actually look quite good with a bit of grey but like with everything its just personal choice.

I use henna sometimes and a henna indigo mix other times, just to wipe out the white bits when I need to be my best, so very dark red or bluey black sometimes. Also in summer, when the sun is fierce I oil my hair with coconut oil, as it is the sun that does the damage in making it dry and horrible.

But if you want to try the henna route, free e book on it and yes it is very good advice and practice ;

If you want to hide the grey then fair play.

Two things would put me off it, firstly most of those male hair dye jobs when you are older do look exactly like you have just dyed your hair and look as obvious as a bad syrup and secondly...having had my head shaved since 22 I have no hair to dye

I like long hair and grow mine long, so when I do a henna job on it or oil it, it looks good, and many females have asked how I keep it so good, to which I reply no chemicals and natural products only, also don't wash the living daylight out of it and if one must dye it, yes it's messy, but natural plant dyes are the way to go and they are not permanent.

Also henna smells nice, an unusual smell many are unfamiliar with.

Just For Men products used to contain lead. I believe they have altered the formulas since.

Oh, and my confidence and the colour of my hair are mutually exclusive.

Do they do a grey dye for those that want to look a little older?

Do you curtains not match the carpet now?

I do believe there is a grey dye available, meant for those with patchy grey, more grey than the younger colour so they can be all grey and showing they have accepted their ageing.
