Geoffrey Butler - Ishiwata 017

Hello
I can confirm that the GB shown above is my bike
It is made from Ishiwata 022 and it is now adorned with 1984 C-Record
I bought it from a guy who lived in Lingfield in Surrey (which is not that far from Croydon) in around 2017/18
who used to time trial it in the 80's
It is a beautifully made frame with fantastic chroming on the forks, seat and chain stays
He bought it as an off the peg frame and built it up himself with a mix of Shimano 600 calipers, Simplex rear mech, gel 280 rims with Miche hubs

Hello

Thank you ever so much for contacting me.

Thank you for the info as well and do you know if your bicycle has a serial number on the bb shell?

It's lovely looking bicycle...

What a lovely iron! 🤩🥳

This livery screams MCMLXXXIV.

wrt GB information - wonder if VCC has a marque enthusiast for GB?

Mr Weirdo -

very minor chainset tip for your machine:

the early years Sakae Ringyo Silstar chainsets have the odd three degree taper

the set on your cycle appears late enough that it should exhibit the standard two degree taper
