Birthday Raleigh Record Ace

Ecurie Peril

Raleigh Fan
Today concluded my 61st circumnavigation of the Sun. My neighbour Paul was eager to congratulate me this morning and when I opened the door to him he duly presented me with this rather splendid 25" Raleigh Record Ace frameset circa mid 80's.
It has been a long time since I was really thrilled by birthday gift. I felt like a kid again.
The plan is probably to build a road fixed gear with an irreverent powder coat finish. Raleigh gods forgive me please.

I think the Raleigh Gods will forgive you, I'm sure that they forgave me for mine.
Bought as a painted frameset, with components and decals added by me.

Oh - and Happy Birthday!

What’s up with the paint already on it? It’s better than my two main commuters, which I do more than 4000 miles a year on!

I have a skutch of bikes with original paint. Two of my three Raleigh's have wafer thin paint from a time when it appears to me they were cutting corners on coverage. My fear is that what is currently surface rust is just going to gain momentum and become an issue.
Furthermore as nice as this RRA is I'd like to personalise it just a little
