Free Rockstar forks (damaged) Now taken

Hi Guys,

When looking for some Rockstar forks for a now abandoned project (frame since deemed FUBAR) I seem to remember a thread on here (can't find it again) with people discussing having replica rockstars cutom made.
But casting the drop outs being the prohibitive cost factor.
(sorry for wasting anyones time if I missunderstood somethign there).

Anyway I got some rockstar forks where someone seems to have messed with an angle grinder on the lower part of the steerer (mechanic says steerer is bent but that is not obvious to my laymans eyes). other than that they look OK to me (but i know next to nothing about bikes!). I can e-mail pics (new password for photobucket has not come through yet).

Anyway if you think they are of use to you they are yours for postage cost/ free if you collect.

Regards
Steph

hey, are these a 1 1/8th steerer tube? if they are could you email me a pic please, and a postage cost also please, Thanks,

Hi Steph,
It's it only the steerer tube that's damaged then it's not a big job to cut it off & weld in a new tube (not for the right person anyway!).

Top karma for someone anyways, welcome to RB 8)

You should be able to attach pics now too - I believe it's only 5 posts that you need before it'll let you - assuming they're not too big...

Hope you've found yourself a new project - they're easy enough to come across on here anyway

All the best

My LIDL calipers say steerer is 1.123 inch I assume that makes them 1 1/8 inch.

I'm not sure they are safe to ride with the steerer as is. Please don't!
Having read this thread (i can't find it anymore) and if they are really as rear and sought after I thought it might be worth somone having an new steerer fitted to the blades/re-use the drop outs for imitation build by a frame builder (if that is at all possible).

Weight according to my kitchen scales is ~950g + some for packadging... Work it out i don't post things very often so would have to go to postoffice and ask/look it up.

Pick up would be from Edinburgh

(edit: removed few lines that stated there were interested people as on seeing pics they lost interest)

Here are some pics front back and either side of the drop outs and the bit of rust near the steerer. Sorry they are a bit small. Computer illiterate as i am I'm using somone elses scrip-fu for sizing (manually this would take me for ever.) for my liking but full size would be 6MB each.

Is there a 4 attachment limit?

should have cleaned the drop outs before making pics they look worse than they are I think.

Gave the drip outs and lower end inside the steerer a bit of a rub down.
(old pics removed new cleaner added)

Fork still up for grabs
