I love this country.. am not particularly patriotic though.

And prefer the Imperial German flag...
Not sure how you' love this country' but that doesn't mean you are patriotic?
Is the Imperial German flag very pretty :D

I just like living here... which I guess is a form of patriotism in one way.. but I don't give a stuff about the monarchy, St.George and whoever the flip else is supposed to be of importance..

The German Imperial flag is the one with the black eagle type bird in the middle (I think.. possibly got the name wrong but it's quite dramatic)..

In Denmark we have legislation about flags....

You can fly a danish flag from a flagpole in your garden (our house has its own flagpole as do most danish houses) if
1) it's your birthday
2) the queen's birthday
3) one of a list of public holidays
4) You have been buried
5) You are in residence at your holiday home
Foreign flags are prohibited, so I skip all these.

Much as I tease my wife about the danish fixation with their flag, in secret I do admit that it seems like a good way around the national pride issue - giving your flag a value and status, while at the same time keeping it out of the hands of extreme nationalists.

Have all the Scandinavian countries got rules regarding flag useage? Lots seem to have flag poles.

Looking back at pics from 1966, Wembley was full of union flags rather than St George, funny how it has changed so much.

I bet the petrol stations are having a field day as consumption goes up from all the drag caused by the stupid things!
