I choose not to fly flags from my car.

A couple of points though.

I think we all have the right to wear england t-shirts flags etc. To be told by the council we cant is disgusting. This is ENGLAND.

Secondly what is this thing people have about anti English patroitism, we should be proud of our country.

If you dont Like or appreciate England then Sod off abroad!..

Good advice, I wonder if the scots would have me

If they'll eat haggis I'm sure they'll have you. Deep fried Neil G.

The St.Georges flag has been a symbol of the far right for too long, its about time it was reclaimed for what it actually represents, England.

If you want to show your far-right credentials there is another predominantly red and white flag with a cross on it that might serve better. :D

Nae bother Neil :)

.

Comes to something when i run less chance of getting grief for flying an English flag in Wales than I would in England
One of the reasons why I moved, its nice to live somewhere that retains its national identity, even if they are all sheep worriers :D

Hate them!

I think they're going to drive me mad!

Every other car in town has them, most have 2 and I saw 1 car with 4 the other day. A big 'Look at me' statement.

And now I'm starting to see them in the gutters, on the road and on footpaths. Litter. Great

Just to add insult to injury, a car has just pulled up right outside my office with 2 on

Roll on when the blinkin World Cup is over.....

And yes, I hate football.
The flags grate on me, true enough.

And I'm not a football fan, either (don't normally watch it, normally couldn't care less about it). Although if England do reasonably well, I may watch - or at least be interested in the results - of some of the more important games.

The thing with the flags, though, gives me a dilemma - I don't like them, would never have them on my car. BUT (conveniently ignoring the assesment of people who do adorn their cars with them) I think people should be free and feel empowered to do so.

They're not to my taste, true enough, but it troubles me about the backlash - is it as much about the people as the display of flags? I'm entirely unhappy with the idea that it's wrong to brandish the English flag, or that it could be perceived as racist - that's just a weak-willed cop out to appease others, who like to be offended.
