Cornish Barn Find

Hello chaps,long time since I posted on here :roll:
Found an old roadbike whilst clearing a mates barn in Cornwall a while back,Its got SIMONCINI on the frame,dark pink met paint,teardrop tubing,whole bike weighs nothing,campag gearing,Mavic chainset,and the brakes are thermoplastic and say Modolo Equipe on them,any ideas as I know nothing about retro Road bikes,loads of rust on it though

Actually that's not half bad. Pity about the condition of some of the fittings but some good items on it - especially the Mavic 'Starfish' chainset I'd say. Well worth having a go at restoration. I've seen worse starting points!

Looks as if the saddle has been fitted with the seat pin back-to-front.

If it was found in Cornwall, then I can tell you it was almost certainly originally supplied by Ricci Cycles in Redruth, who were the main importer in the late 80s/90s.

I moved down there in '91... they had rows and rows of these frames in their showroom and sold a lot by mail order. Judging by the components, I would say it's probably 85-87.
