Comfortable & Efficient 2001(ish) MTB - Turned into commuter

Olav

Retro Newbie
Being both tall and heavy, and gone through several back operations, I set myself a goal, of building the perfect commuter bike.
My criterias,
-Upright cycling position
-Stiff frame
-High volume - low rolling resistance tyres, with good wet capabilities
-Enough stopping power.

After doing a lot of research, i ended up with, what i believe is the perfect bike:)

"Klein" 2001-ish Attitude frame with disc mounts. Lightweight, nice looking, stiff frame, that met my criteria.
Jones Loop Riser bar, and riser stem, giving me a comfortable riding experience
Magura MT-5 dual calliper brakes.

650b(!) carbon wheels (32h) to support my weight.
Orange tubes
Conti Race King - tan walls.

Parts sourced from the bin: XT crankset, XTR rear deraillieur (9 speed, rapidfire), LX 9 speed shifter, and an old trekking bike fork. Unknown-4.jpeg Unknown.jpeg Unknown-2.jpeg Unknown-3.jpeg
