Clive Stuart frame?

Hello Experts,
As a newbie I'd like to appeal to your expertise in identifying my recently acquired frame. It has the remains of Clive Stuart transfers, but I can't find a frame number and it doesn't seem to match anything I've seen online for CS bikes. Main frame colour is metallic blue with grey undercoat, forks have some sort of brown anti rust coat, but there are traces of yellow underneath and on the stem. There are badge rivet holes in the stem and a single shifter mount brazed to the down tube. Bottom bracket is stamped Nervex with what looks like a patent number, but no frame number. Seat stays are not wraparound. Any ideas?

Looking at the photos I doubt if it is actually a CS. To me it looks to old and I doubt that the known CS builders would have used that style of lug. However, it is of course possible that it could have been bought in and fitted with CS transfers - or maybe it had a respray by CS at some time. The yellow on the fork is a nod to the familar CS in-house yellow finish but I'm sure they only used transfers for head badges..
