boy"O"boy's Pace RC100S

Re:

Updates have been a long time overdue my RC100. Spurred on by reading Ringo's progress on his own RC100 - here's a few pics of where i'm at right now.

The frame was resprayed back in 2012 as has stayed wrapped up through 3 house moves so far!

The components were all boxed up waiting for assembly. It's all essentially there - I just need to find time to get everything together. Finding time has to be the biggest contributing factor for my tardiness in completing this one..

Here's some background of where I'm at…

After a bit of assessment, I wasn't happy with the choice of anodised colour or the crown.
I stripped this back at repolished it again with the view to getting this anodised in a grey that matches the picture on page 2. I also have an original black anodised one for the RC35's.

The fork legs have been trial fitted - they were a slightly tight fit where they'd been repainted.

Re:

Magura mounts stripped and polished. Aiming to get these anodised in black.

Some detail pics of the re-stripped crown too. Came up a bit better 2nd time around!

Re:

Suntour XC Pro front and rear mechs polished. The black parts touched in with spray - not quite NOS, but tidy enough.

Re:

Bullseye spider polished. Crank retaining piece in bottom left of picture.

The SLS line guides were painted at the same time as the frame. They are a snug fit into top tube holes but unlike the original, these can be removed in one piece.

Re:

The painted frame.

Hopefully the next update will show this finally together! - it's only been 5 years in the making so far!

Thanks all.
