Bike accident on my commuting route

It doesn't really indicate how serious the rider's injuries were, but I hope she recovers ok.

The bike is pretty mangled, as you might expect after a collision with a lorry.

I cycle down this road and back on my commute and it is bad, with two narrow lanes jammed with traffic in a hurry to get home.

"The road was shut from 3.50pm to 8.05pm while investigators examined the scene" suggests that the accident occurred in daylight.

As a driver myself i find the distracted drivers as a primary source of accidents with riders. We all know, its just that tiny second you look elsewhere but the road, and thats it.... This, of course, if you're talking about a city without separate lanes.
When i used to train alot, i kinda lost track of the dozens of times cars bumped me with their side mirrors...... ironically i smashed my elbow years after while eating a burguer after club, tripped on a chain :/

At least no one was killed. Injuries will hopefully heal.

or.... more likely from personal experience..... lorry overtaking and turning left....

there's a bus in Liverpool with dents the shape of my SPD'd foot for this exact reason
