If I should die on the highways and someone starts a flower shrine to me, then I shall come back and haunt them.

The British public has a growing fascination with public displays of grief that I find deeply insincere.
Mind you I also have a loathing for journalists who, rather than researching and writing, just open the floodgates holding back the drivel in their brains and make a living out of publishing their 'opinion'.

Why should anyone give two sh*ts about what some humanities graduate with a newspaper column thinks?

Which is why I don't read them, thus avoiding further anger.

If you don't like it write to the news paper and give them your view. Better than writing on here.

That depends whether one's interest is to remark on the issue on a forum one enjoys rather than attempt to feedback in some way to the originator of the article. I see no reason for one to be considered better than the other. Having a moan has its place.
