We will never, ever, stop supplying them weapons. Israel is the only thing stopping the possiblke creation of a united muslim state or alliance stretching from Libya across to the northern border of India. For all sorts of strategic and commercial reasons they get plenty of willing support.

There is already the Arab League / Union.

It may have escaped your notice that a) there's a big gap in the middle called "Israel", b) no one likes Iran, except Hamas, c) Egypt have alienated many Arabs in the region by shunning the Muslim Brotherhood, d) Afghanistan is too busy imploding to exert any external influence, and e) Pakistan can't take its eye off the ball with India to get involved in much else. A unified crescent of Muslim states crossing half of Asia is a long, long way from being a reality, and as long as the main Western player have anything to say about it then it never will happen.

Glasgow's got it covered. The council is flying the flag of Palestine in support. Given it's GCC with the collective intelligence of a house brick they won't quite know what they're supporting, and they certainly can't influence anything but they've obviously got money to burn so it's all good.

Hmm, obviously a clever guy. Married to Johann Lamont though so maybe not. And people wonder why we don't want independence with these cretins in charge?

Israel: don't use all your fire on the terrorists- do us a favour and leave a rocket for Glesga city chambers. And if you've got two spare Holyrood is full of wasters as well.

Israel since the sixties have had a policy of 'asymmetric response'. In other words, pick on Israel with a water pistol and you could theoretically be nuked back. It's supposed to be a deterrent, although whether it works or one or not is highly dubious. Nevertheless, the policy is a matter of international record and I've no sympathy for anyone too stupid to realise what the consequences may be. I'm not saying its right, I'm saying its the way it is.

They were good friends with the apartheid regime because both at various times suffered arms embargo which motivated both to develop their domestic arms industries and co-operate with the development of their own nuclear weapon. The embargo did nothing more than actually accelerate the rate that both states gained sophisticated weapon systems.

Bottom line is that the IDF is one of the best equipped and probably the best trained conventional military force in the world. They're also extremely highly motivated, effectively a nation of professionals under arms. The British army couldn't take them on and realistically hope to win - the IDF land forces have more than 20 times the personnel available - so why do a bunch of hot heads with home made rockets think they've a chance?

I don't fancy getting stabbed, so I don't go round slapping people with nuclear weapons.

Die out slowly under a zionist's boot, or die out slowly under a zionist with a black eye's boot.

I'll take B please. If you're gonna go down, go down swinging.

Not that anyone is picking on Israel in the first place. Getting the odd drainpipe full of sugar fired at you is to be expected when you force people into a walled prison.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

In any scenario the British Army would demolish them.

Yeah, I mean as much as I despise our armed forces, at least they can aim. Unless Israel wants to admit the bombs and bullets hitting children weren't missed shots...

Man for man, (or woman), Britain has the greatest armed forces in the world. No military analyst disputes that.

Our approach would never allow the kind of imbalance towards civilian casualties we are seeing. We would go in and be prepared to spill blood on both sides to keep non combatants safe from harm.

Fact.

If it was an opportunity to shoot some childkilling IDF scum I'm fine with joining. Just about the only reason I would.

Lord almighty, a scenario where I'd support British military intervention. People are going to wear shoes as hats next, I swear to god.

Not quite up on the state of Scottish politics, are you?
Labour run GCC and always have done. They'd likely have a chance in a post independence Scotland for Holyrood as well. Although it was more a comment on the lack of quality of politicians in general. Salmond's crown s slipping and the rest are nothing. And I include the Scottish Tories in that. With the possible exception of Murdo Fraser.

Although I have high hopes for the only Tory on the council, serving my very own ward of Pollokshields West. Seemingly the only one who understands the words balance, support, taking sides etc. In case anyone hasn't got FB he's justified my vote by flying a Star of David out his council window. Unlike Mr Graham he sees that flying one flag and not both is clearly showing support.

Although as said what this has to do with GCC other than pointless grandstanding I'll never know.

You know, it's funny. People like to claim that it's Hamas trying to radicalise it's population by doing things that only get it more grief. I wonder what that makes Israel then, when they do stuff like this?

Zionists, like all far right, aren't particularly bright. But even they must be able to recognise a fecking ambulance.
