Lucky him ,
Ours just went past in a canoe to get from the beach and across the harbour !

Me neither due to open at 5am Saturday.

Well back to more important matters. The headset arrived form Canuck as did to top cap from CRC. Awaits cable stop and seat post.

Who needs a mallet or a press when you have a lathe with a tailstock? I didn't do both ends at once before you ask. Also used a section of ally down tube from another old project that got sacrificed (diamond back arrival, remember?) filed square to tap home the crown race. Simples.

NeilM is very patient. I ask lots of questions before I execute anything unfamiliar This means it usually goes well as was the case here. Sheldon says i need to ride bumpy to bed it all in then nip it up again.

Second lathe press.

I can crack on this evening once I've walked the dogs and pretended to do some work in the study. She's out shopping so I'm 'working' now aren't I?

good to read progress , even if I can't see pics , due to our Fisher Price computers at work . What bike do you reckon on riding in that event ?

Either Overbury's Pioneer or Alves. Might change at halfway. Seriously thinking of using both as Mrs HM should be at guiting with a hamper, fresh clothes and a spare bike. I live at the start and rest stop is 15 mins away so can call her in. :D Alves is the more laid back ride. I shall be at the back as i plan to finish whatever. Need to train harder now though. no excuses.

50 or 100k ? I'm guessing the Alves is a rigid too ? Not sure how my back will cope with rigid if I do the 100 :?: May have to go out for a 'king long ride , see how it holds out

Looking forward to seeing it HM". Was a little tempted myself but the big konas are heading out wards for now here. Happy building.
