Re: 1991 Alpinestars Ti-Mega Build

It might be a light ti frame but the seat binder bolt was a TANK weighing in at 122 grams!

Swapped it out for the Ringle Holey Clamp

Re:

This is turning out to be a harder build than I intended.

First I had to source another Ti Mega in order to get the fork.... (sold it minus the fork already on ebay)

Now I just bought a THIRD Ti-Mega (just for the litespeed stem) in order to complete this build. Going to be auctioning another Ti-Mega size LRG soon.....

Look for an update this weekend as I have most of the parts ready to start bringing the bike to life.

Re: 1991 Alpinestars Ti-Mega Build

Whewwww, and I thought the fork was hard to find..... The Litespeed, made for Alpinestar, Ti 1 1/4" stem almost proved to be a lost cause until it showed up today. A real lucky find for a bike that just wouldn't be the same without it. Thank you very much to Big Nick in Michigan!

Now the last hard to find part I need to complete the build is the Litespeed Ti handlebar. If anyone knows of one please let me know. I am going to build it up with a black Alpinestar placeholder until the right one pops up. Build day could be this weekend?!

Here is the stem prior to installing the headset. Just trying it on for size.
