[1990 Gary Fisher Sphinx]

Cork, Ireland. For sale: the original hybrid or cross bike. As good on rugged track as on paved road. A 1990 Gary Fisher Sphinx, bought in Portland, OR. Dimensions: 21-inch frame (seat tube length overall); 28 inch wheels with 700 x 28C HS310 tires. It is good condition; didn't get much use after we moved back to Ireland. Naturally, it has some wear and tear but no material damage. Think of the Sphinx as "the original monster cross, released 16+ years before the category was even invented" (http://cyclofiend.com/cc/2010/cc797-gernothuber0510.html). It works excellently across commuting, mountain biking, and touring. If you want to jump it into the 2020s, you can: This bike has unusually large front and rear clearance, which allows for wide tires up to 50c (1.97”), which is certainly a monster cross set-up!
