Re: Father & Son's touring project -1977 Claud Butler Cavalier

Looks superb!
Job well done boys, now to look forward to better weather and a good tour to get it dialled in.

Waiting for the longer (134mm) B.B. axle to arrive, due tomorrow.

So I thought I’d take the opportunity to get a little fastidious with the brake cables.... :)
Not that I’m seeking THM’s approval you understand.... ;)

Re: Father & Son's touring project -1977 Claud Butler Cavalier

After playing Goldilocks with 6 slightly different sized BB axles, she’s finally finished… just in time for the RbotM January comp..

Even then I had to add a spacer just to get the right space, without it just kissed the paint…

Wow! Yes, that is a bit tight. Watch out for flexing under load on the drive side down stroke when out of the saddle & climbing.

Yes, I think I might machine up a spacer that’s a tad wider out of Ali at work, the near side crank could easily cope with an extra mm or so nearer the BB
