Nice stickers, shame about the bike

Doesn't ring a bell. I remember a Pink Smoke Tequesta but that doesn't sound like that paint job either.

Tactics are largely irrelevant when bidders place a single maximum bid - and that is a key point. That is a SMART bid. Placing a bid and then deciding an hour later you'd pay an extra $20 is STUPID. It is an invitation to be bid up. That was my point. ...and I am never bidding an item up...

Well thanks Johnnyboy, I WAS trying to help knobby. Fat lot of good it does HERE where you have Auction Nannies running around trying to dictate how everyone else should bid. I guess I'll keep auction tips to myself from now on. The wise will learn from their mistakes - the idiots will...

I wasn't the one who 'resorted' to name calling if you take the time to read the thread. I offered some advice to a member who posted a double bid and pointed out the issues of said double bid. I presume MOST already know this basic info. For those who didn't already know it I thought I might...

The OP isn't the person who is in jeopardy of being bid up. Once again you don't know what the f@#$ you are talking about. Next time just STFU and spare the rest of us your ignorance.

any idea what brand these are

One version of that Sachs skewer had a plastic cover on it but otherwise very similar. This auction finished unsold. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SACHS-Front-Skewer-NOS-Alloy-for-130mm-/170865633489?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27c862a8d1

Uh - No you couldn't report for me for anything. If I win the auction with a bid I pay for it. If I make a losing bid big deal. No eBay rule against that. Since I am NOT INTERESTED in these forks and CHOOSE to extend some courtesy to the forum it would indeed be dickish for me to use this...

My first car was a '68 GTO convertible. Traded it for a yellow 'Vette. Chevette - not Corvette.

    PotM - Water, Water, Everywhere

Honorable mention to Fluffy Chicken but zigzag's photo was a proper and unique capture of the subject matter as it relates to MTBing. Zigzag's photo just screams fun amid many others suggesting tranquility. Props to all for taking the time to share their rides with us once more.

Nice stickers, shame about the bike

Dude probably writes for MTB Pro magazine and has a Pro-Flex with Cook Bros cranks and Dia-Compe brakes at home that he could drop us all on riding our favorite trail once he was properly fueled by PowerBars. This is just his P.O.S. commuter he doesn't care gets nicked chained to a sign in...

Switchblades, but I'd give a common man shout out to the Tange Big Fork.

The current price is a relative bargain and it is sure to go up. Same dude keeps upping it ever so slightly. That's kind of pointless IMO to constantly low ball and inch the bids up by 14 microbids. At least knobby put in some proper bids. There might be a bit of intimidation still in play...

It is an auction strategy. People who buy a lot of things at auctions are familiar with such tactics. Noobs might not understand

Why did you raise your bid a couple hours after your first bid? Allow me to point something out to those of you who may not naturally think like this. You have just set yourself up to pay at least the max of that initial bid if somebody chose to make you pay it. There is little risk to them...

    And I thought I was insane ...

Not only $504 but the current high bidder has increased his bid. You could possibly bid $514 and not have too much fear of winning.

    Newbie with newbike

From what I have heard those Headshocks can require a bit of maintenance is all I meant. Probably not so bad for commuter purposes. Cannondale did things their own way. Headshock and Lefty forks, over-oversized tubing, that 1 1/4" headset and a lot of CODA labelled parts. Because they are a...
