Out of the habit so I keep forgetting to post these. Yesterday. There and back again. 18 miles...again
This is part of the boundary wall on the River Don for Sprotbrough Hall - demolished in the 1920's. Note the 'V' made of bricks. This was done by a couple of guys rebuilding the wall a few days after Churchill's V for Victory speech, and, though very faint, a date of 24 7 41 can just be made out. It used to be possible to see their initials, but sadly they are long gone. The bricks used to be painted white.
